SRX7899533: dissimilatory sulfite reductase gene B (dsrB) amplicon sequencing: human fecal microcosms
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina MiSeq) run: 3,048 spots, 1.6M bases, 1.1Mb downloads

Design: PCR amplification of dissimilatory sulfite reductase subunit B genes (dsrB) from DNA harvested from microcosms containing human feces
Submitted by: University of Vienna
Study: Sulfoquinovose is a selective nutrient for bacteria in the human gut
show Abstracthide Abstract
Exploration of sulfoquinovose degradation by the human gut microbiota. Homogenized human feces from 8 vegetarians was used to construct microcosms, which were amended with sulfoquinovose and controls (e.g. glucose, taurine, no amendment, etc.). Microcosms were subsampled and extracted nucleic acids were screened using amplicon sequencing (16S rRNA gene, dsrB), metagenomics, and metatranscriptomics.
